Omega is a wavy, improv-inspired checkerboard pattern achieved with strip piecing, a streamlined set of templates, and a few clever cutting tweaks for maximum variation. Make the Basic layout for a more straightforward look, or try the Improv layout, with strategically placed disruptor blocks that bump up the randomized feel. (Despite the name, there is no actual improv required for the Improv layout - just use the included templates.) Omega’s curves are gentle, and her wonky nature forgives some imprecision, so sit back and enjoy the sew.
Instructions are included for yardage, FQs or F8s, and also a completely scrappy version using separate pieces for each square.
Omega is a confident beginner pattern. It was professionally tech edited by Jessica Schunke of Blue Sky Modern Craft.

This pattern was made to help you put those scraps and precuts you’ve been saving to good use. The idea came to me while I was working on another scrappy quilt and ended up with a pile of oddly sized leftovers. Think of this pattern as your chance to play.

The Cottagecore Quilt is an original quilt pattern design by Taylor Krz of Toad & Sew.
This pattern is rated Intermediate (3/5) and assumes the quilter has basic quilting knowledge and can maintain a consistent ¼" seam allowance. This pattern is traditionally pieced with no use of FPP or templates.
Inspired by the heritage of traditional house quilts, Cottagecore reimagines that legacy through bold color choices, playful scaling, and inventive construction. The result is a quilt that feels both nostalgic and new: warm, homey, and perfect as a housewarming gift or for cozy nights in.
Cameos is a unique design that showcases your favorite fabrics. Perhaps you want to show off that beloved fat quarter without cutting it up too much; the Fat Quarter Version is perfect for that. Or perhaps there’s a print you’d like to fussy cut; the Double Cameo Version is perfect for that. #CameosQuilt
Project Sizes: Throw 60x69, Bed 80x92
