Corsage by Jen Hewett

"Corsage was inspired by the comfortable formality of living and dining rooms of my past. I went to Cooper Hewitt’s Design Triennial last winter, and was touched by the dining room designed by artists Nicole Crowder and Hadiya Williams, which reminded me so much of the dining rooms I’d spent so much time in when I was a kid. These were rooms that were kept clean in case company stopped by, with tables set with the good China for special occasion family dinners. I found black and white photos of my teenage aunts in my Granny’s living room,
dressed in formal gowns and wearing corsages, posing with their prom dates. I thought about the patterns that would have fit in in these settings – as table linens and wallpaper, upholstery and rugs. I designed this collection to evoke those rooms and those treasured family moments." By Jen Hewett
